Ashgate Hospice work together with energy, care and compassion so that people can have a good death in a place of their choosing and know that their loved ones are important to us too.
Ashgate aims to provide, educate and campaign for excellent palliative and end-of-life care and bereavement support. We aspire to be a centre of excellence – working as part of the wider health system with energy, openness and compassion.
They provide palliative and end-of-life care free of charge to people aged 18 and over, caring for people living with a life-limiting illness, including cancer, neurological diseases, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung diseases.
Ashgate Hospice is not an NHS hospice. So, while extra funding has recently been announced by the Government for health and social care, charities like Ashgate rely on the donations and goodwill of their supporters to provide our care as much as ever.
Their vision is for people with a life-limiting illness to be able to live well and to have a good death – well informed and supported – and for their loved ones to be well supported and comforted too.
